Learners require a Creative Arts Learner’s Book, drawing and coloring materials such as pencils, crayons, and paints, modeling clay, fabrics, and simple musical instruments or locally improvised ones. Teachers should also use visual aids, music recordings, and space for performances and displays.
The Grade 4 Creative Arts curriculum introduces learners to basic concepts in visual arts, music, and performing arts. It helps them explore their imagination and express themselves through drawing, singing, dancing, acting, and crafting. Learners develop fine motor skills, creativity, and appreciation for beauty and cultural heritage through guided and practical activities.
By the end of Grade 4, learners should be able to create simple artworks, perform basic songs and dances, and express ideas and emotions through art and performance. They should also appreciate their own and others’ creative work, work collaboratively, and demonstrate confidence and discipline during artistic activities.
