Grade 1 English Term 2 is designed to build strong foundational literacy skills in young learners through interactive and learner-centered activities aligned with the KICD Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Read simple stories aloud with confidence
Answer simple comprehension questions

Identify main ideas in simple texts
Form lowercase letters a–z correctly
Write simple CVC words
Write 3–6 simple sentences with capital letters and full stops
Label pictures correctly
Write short creative pieces such as “My Home” and “My Day”
Use polite greetings appropriately
Describe weather and seasons
Follow and give simple directions
Recite rhymes and short poems
Narrate daily routines clearly
Identify common nouns (people, places, things)
Use pronouns such as I, he, she correctly
