Learning Area Description
History and Government in Grade 10 helps learners explore the development of human societies with emphasis on Africa and Kenya. The subject introduces political, social, economic and cultural transformations that have shaped modern states. Learners also examine the structure of government, citizenship and rights and responsibilities within a democratic society. The learning area aims to help learners understand historical events and their influence on contemporary life, appreciate diverse cultures, develop skills in analysing historical evidence and participate effectively as responsible citizens.
